CUET UG 2025 Registration Process: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially started the application process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2025. This year, the CUET UG exam is scheduled to take place from May 8 to June 1, 2025. Candidates can apply and find more details on the official website: cuet.nta.nic.in.

The CUET (UG) – 2025 will be conducted in 13 Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Applicants must carefully follow the guidelines outlined in the official information bulletin.

Correction window: March 24–26

Exam dates: May 8 – June 1

Mode of exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

In contrast to CUET UG 2024, which was conducted in a hybrid format (both CBT and pen-and-paper mode), this year’s exam will be fully online. Last year, the test was held in 379 cities, including 26 locations outside India, with around 13.48 lakh candidates appearing. An additional 1.58 lakh candidates took seven test papers on May 29, while nearly 1,000 students participated in a retest on July 19 following exam-related controversies.

CUET UG 2025 Fee Structure

For up to three subjects:

General (UR): Rs 1,000

OBC-NCL/EWS: Rs 900

SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: Rs 800

For each additional subject beyond three:

General (UR): Rs 400 per subject

OBC-NCL/EWS: Rs 375 per subject

SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: Rs 350 per subject

The CUET 2024 exam process was marred by chaos, with NTA facing legal challenges. A viral video allegedly showing empty boxes of answer sheets outside the exam hall further fueled concerns, though NTA denied these allegations.

CUET UG 2025 Key Changes

Fewer Subjects: The number of subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37, comprising 13 languages and 23 domain-specific subjects.

Computer-Based Test (CBT): The exam will now be conducted entirely in CBT mode, ensuring greater efficiency and accuracy.

Expanded Subject Choice: Students can now select any subject, irrespective of their Class 12 stream, providing more flexibility in test selection.

Meanwhile, NTA has also released application forms for CUET PG 2025. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in central and participating universities can apply at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/. The application window, which opened on January 2, will close on February 1, 2025.
