Classplus, a B2B ed-tech startup has introduced Classplus Publishing Labs. This initiative is designed to assist educators and creators in the entire process of book creation, from design to printing, publishing and shipping. Going beyond the realm of digital courses and content, Classplus aims to democratise book publishing, making it accessible to educators and creators from diverse backgrounds and strengthening their brand presence, according to an official release.
In the initial phase of the programme, more than 50 authors have received support, resulting in the sale of over 100,000 books and earnings of approximately Rs 2 crore. This initiative aims to facilitate the publishing of books covering a range of academic and non-academic subjects in any language, complete with visuals, the release mentioned.
The support provided extends beyond the publication phase, with Classplus’ platform offering valuable insights into book sales, popularity, and reader feedback. This information helps new authors refine their work for maximum impact. Furthermore, the programme opens avenues for authors to sell their books on e-commerce platforms, providing a boost to their brand and potential earnings, as per the release.
“Publishing a book is regarded as the hallmark of expertise and solidifies an educator’s status as an expert in their field. But it is often a complex and daunting endeavour for them. Now, with Classplus Publishing Labs, we are breaking down the barriers to publishing for educators and content creators, making it more accessible and hassle-free for them,” Mukul Rustagi, co-founder, CEO, Classplus, said.
A substantial majority, surpassing 75%, of educators and creators utilising the Classplus platform hail from tier 2 cities and beyond—regions that are frequently overlooked by conventional publishing houses. This initiative aims to play a pivotal role in empowering these individuals, enabling them to forge meaningful connections with their audience through the medium of books. Moreover, it introduces an extra revenue stream for their teaching businesses, thereby contributing to their financial sustainability and expanding their impact in underserved regions.
