How to calculate percentile

The CAT percentile means a candidate’s relative performance in comparison to all others who have taken up the examination. One can calculate it by using a scaled score and the rank secured by the candidate. Based on their respective scaled scores, each candidate will be assigned a rank. The scaled score is calculated as per the difficulty level across different sections. High scaled scores denotes higher rank. The top scorer will be allocated rank 1 and so on. In case of tie, candidates who have secured same scaled scores will be awarded similar rank.
