AlmaBetter, a global ed-tech platform supported by Kalaari, has joined forces with the E&ICT Academy at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Through this collaboration, partners aim to offer advanced certifications in Full Stack Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Full Stack Web Development. The E&ICT Academies represent a collaborative initiative involving the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Government of India and various IITs and NITs, according to an official release.

The curriculum has been crafted and endorsed by E&ICT Academy at IIT Guwahati. Learners enrolling with AlmaBetter will receive an additional Advanced Certification from E&ICT Academy at IIT Guwahati, granting them access to a globally recognised standard of education accredited by IIT. Upon completing this certification, learners can add a prestigious IIT endorsement to their resumes, significantly enhancing their career prospects, the release mentioned.

“E&ICT Academy was introduced to enhance the employability of tech students and working professionals in our country. Our partnership with AlmaBetter makes it easier for us to reach more students nationwide. This partnership marks a huge step ahead as we offer the best education and employability skills to tech learners,” Gaurav Trivedi, principal investigator, E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, said.

With this partnership, AlmaBetter aims to increase this percentage by at least 30%, democratising tech education and making it widely accessible and affordable to tech enthusiasts and professionals across the nation. All students eyeing IIT-certified programmes can now access a global curriculum via a flexible way of learning focused on job outcomes with access to AlmaBetter’s esteemed network of 700+ hiring partners, as per the release.

“It is a significant milestone in our journey as we continue our mission to bring a global standard of tech education to our country’s capable students who otherwise cannot access or afford the finest of tech education. This partnership enables us to further our mission at a faster pace,” Shivam Dutta, co-founder, CEO AlmaBetter, said.

AlmaBetter claims to have recorded a 92% placement rate in the last three years. Earlier in July, AlmaBetter had launched AlmaBetter Innovarsity and allocated Rs 50 crore to the Innovarsity fund to enhance learner experience, bring global standard education and offer merit-based scholarships across programmes. The company plans to allocate 50% of this fund towards scholarships for its programs in partnership with E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, it added.
