Accor, a hospitality group and the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) have forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the global campus of IIHM in Kolkata. This MoU lays the foundation for a lasting partnership aimed at offering hospitality education and enhancing employment prospects for students across India, according to an official statement.
“Our partnership with IIHM represents a significant step towards nurturing future talents within the hospitality sector. We are dedicated to empowering young minds with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic world of hospitality,” Puneet Dhawan, senior vice president operations, Accor India and South Asia, said.
Under the terms of this agreement, Accor will play a vital role in assisting IIHM in shaping a curriculum that aligns with industry standards. Accor will also contribute by offering opportunities for hands-on industrial training, conducting guest lectures, facilitating faculty development initiatives, organising internships and placements within Accor-managed hotels, and providing practical experience within its various properties across India, the statement mentioned.
“The partnership with Accor India is a testament to our commitment to providing students with the best education and industry exposure. Together, we are crafting the future of hospitality, where education meets excellence,” Suborno Bose, founder, CEO, IIHM, said.
IIHM is set to offer a comprehensive one-Year certificate/diploma course, complete with industrial training and examinations.
