Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani is getting married at an opulent ceremony in Mumbai today. Ambani, 29, will tie the knot with Radhika Merchant at the Jio World Convention Centre in the evening. Who’s who from the world of media, movies and other walks of life are attending the grand celebrations. Amid all the excitement, the wedding gala of the richest man of India has gained some political hues as there is a strong buzz around Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the event.
While there is no official statement regarding the Prime Minister’s attendance, a series of posters were seen outside the Jio Convention Centre, which is the venue of the Ambani wedding. The posters, written in Hindi, welcomed PM Modi in Mumbai. According to a Reuters report, Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye said that the posters were not installed by the party. But he did add that some ‘excited’ party worker may have put up the posters outside the venue.
The report added that PM Modi will be in Mumbai for an inauguration of a project, and he may attend the wedding. Apart from PM Modi, the Ambanis have invited top leaders across party lines. The RIL chairman had flown down to Delhi to meet Socia Gandhi at her 10, Janpath residence to extend the wedding invitation. However, an ABP report says that Gandhis are likely to skip the festivities. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav are among the top political figures who are likely to attend the Mumbai ceremony.
