The rumours of Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi joining the Congress has not gone down well with the Twitterati. Some of them wonder why would the Amit Shah-led BJP induct a “Congress discard” like her in the party. Rita Bahuguna was in the race for becoming the Congress’ CM face ahead of crucial Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. However, the party sidelined her in favour of former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, who like Rita Bahuguna is also a Brahmin politician.

According to reports, Rita Bahuguna has not been happy with the party favouring Dikshit. In the wake of politics over surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Rita Bahuguna has not followed the Congress line and supported the Union government for conducting the strikes.

However, on Monday as the reports of her joining the BJP spread, Twitterati couldn’t stop giving some hilarious suggestions to the BJP.

Vijay Bahuguna, BJP leader, and brother of Rita Bahuguna, however, denied his sister is planning to join the BJP. ANI quoted him as saying: “‘These are just rumours, no truth in them.”
