The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (October 4) predicted that heavy rainfall is likely to continue over the next few days in the northeastern regions of India, specifically in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and northern Odisha.
On the other hand, the Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from certain parts of Gujarat, as well as the remaining portions of Rajasthan, and has also receded from some areas in Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh on October 3.
The meteorological department also said there are no significant weather conditions over West India during the next 5 days.
IMD’s rainfall warning
A rainfall warning has been issued for various regions across India. In Jharkhand and north Odisha, there is a likelihood of light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall expected on October 3-4. Bihar and West Bengal & Sikkim should be prepared for similar conditions from October 3-5.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are expected to experience such weather from October 3-7. Isolated very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Jharkhand and north Odisha on the 3rd and in West Bengal & Sikkim on October 4.
Northeast India, including Assam & Meghalaya (October 3-7), Arunachal Pradesh (October 3-6), and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura (October 3-5), can expect light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall.
