The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a red alert for extremely heavy showers in Tamil NaduCoastal Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Yanam, and Karaikal. It has also issued a yellow alert for intense downpours in South Interior Karnataka, Mahe, and Kerala. On the contrary, dense fog is likely to cover Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh.

IMD’s alert for Fog and Smog

The Weather Department has also warned that there will be dense fog conditions during the late night and early morning hours in Bihar, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh till November 30. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is expected to witness it till December 2. Moderate smog is also likely to engulf isolated pockets of North India for the rest of the week.

Heavy Rainfall Warning

According to the Met Department, heavy showers are likely to occur in Puducherry and North Tamil Nadu from November 29 to 30. Similar conditions will be prevalent in Yanam, Rayalaseema, and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 29.

Additionally, light to moderate rains along with thunderstorms and lightning are expected to take place in South Interior Karnataka from November 29 to December 2. Tamil Nadu, Yanam, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh are predicted to experience it from November 29 to December 2. Likewise, Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, and Rayalaseema are likely to receive it from November 30 to December 2. Lakshadweep and Coastal and North interior Karnataka are likely to experience it from December 1 to December 2 while Andaman and Nicobar Islands are predicted to have it for this week.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast

The Delhi/NCR region is likely to have clear skies during the day, the wind speed will be below 4kmph in the morning and will decrease further in the afternoon. The presence of smog and mild fog may be there during morning and evening hours, which is expected to affect visibility.
