The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather bulletin has warned that there will be heavy rainfall across Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Marathawada, Gujarat, Kutch, and Saurashtra during the next four days.

Heatwave Warning

No respite from heatwave conditions is forecast for West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab. These regions are likely to have hot weather conditions on June 24 and June 25. However, the heatwave intensity is likely to decline afterwards.

Progression of Southwest Monsoon:

The IMD has also mentioned in its report that the Southwest Monsoon has made advancement into additional areas of Arabian Sea, Gujarat, additional regions of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Odisha, Maharashtra, and some places of Jharkhand. The monsoon is anticipated to progress towards Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and some regions of Uttar Pradesh in 2-3 days.

IMD’s Prediction for Heavy Rainfall:

The Weather Department has identified a cyclonic circulation presence over Southern Chhattisgarh positioned at the lower and middle tropospheric levels. As a result of these weather conditions, heavy rainfall is likely to take place over the Gujarat region today, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh over the next couple of days. Mahe and Kerala are expected to have similar weather patterns from June 24 to June 25. Isolated heavy rainfall is forecast for Lakshadweep, Kutch and Saurashtra on June 24. West Madhya Pradesh might experience a wet spell on June 24 and June 27 whereas Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh may receive isolated heavy rainfall on June 26 and June 27.
