As heavy rainfall lashes Delhi-NCR, residents brace for intensified monsoon showers amidst warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) of continued heavy downpour across Western India. Additionally, similar weather patterns are expected to affect Northwestern regions from June 28 to June 30.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update:

A heavy intensity rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms occurred over isolated places along with a wind speed of 20-40 km/h across Delhi and NCR. The Met Department has issued a yellow alert for the national capital. It has also forecast very heavy rainfall in Delhi over the weekend.

Southwest Monsoon Progression

As per the IMD release, conditions are expected to become favourable for further progression of the Southwest monsoon into some areas of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Uttarakhand during next 2-3 days.

IMD’s Warning for Heavy Rainfall

A cyclonic circulation presence over Central Gujarat has been alerted by the IMD, under its effect there is a high chance of heavy rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh from June 28 to July 1. South Interior Karnataka, Saurashtra, Kerala, Kutch, west Madhya Pradesh, and Mahe are expected to get it on June 28. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also predicted in Chhattisgarh from June 28 to June 30 and in East Madhya Pradesh from June 28 to June 29. Additionally, East Rajasthan is likely to experience heavy showers from June 28 to July 1, and East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttarakhand will get it from June 28 and June 29. Heavy downpour is likely to occur over West Uttar Pradesh and Haryana on June 29 and June 30 and Bihar will get it on 29.
