Vadodara car accident victim Vikas Kewalani has told news agency ANI that the accused Rakshit Ravish Chaurasiya was driving over the speed limit for enjoyment and that there should be strict action and punishment against him.

The social media was aghast over the video of the accident that went viral three days back. A woman was instantly killed when the over speeding car, driven by by Ravish, crashed into the two-wheeler while also injuring four others on the street.

The accident happened around 12:30 am near Muktanand Cross Roads in the Karelibaug area in Gujarat. The driver, Rakshit Chaurasiya, was arrested after the incident, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Panna Momaya.

Vikas Kewalani, the victim of the car accident in Vadodara, explained that he and two others from his society had gone out for a break. One of them was Hemali Patel, whose husband is now in critical condition. Kewalani sad that they were riding a two-wheeler when suddenly, an overspeeding car crashed into their vehicle. After falling, Vikas remained conscious and saw that the car also hit another two-wheeler, sending it flying through the air. Both the husband and wife suffered serious injuries.

Vikas mentioned that such incidents cannot be prevented by fines alone, stating that fines are not the solution and that the people responsible will only realise their mistakes when strict punishments are enforced.

He also pointed out that his brother and sister had fractured bones, and he himself fractured his right elbow. He observed that the accused, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, appeared to be intoxicated and was speeding for fun. “The accused looked intoxicated. He was doing it for enjoyment purposes,” Vikas said.

The accused, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, on Saturday told the media that his car was ahead of the two-wheeler and was turning right. However, there was a pothole on the road, which caused his car to bump into the other vehicle. This triggered the airbags and affected his vision. He claimed that he did not go to any Holi party and was not drunk. He also said that he would like to meet the family of the victims and would do whatever they want.
