Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tore into the Gandhi family after a video showed Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi dancing to a political song and said “the Family as usual was singing and dancing when the nation was anxious and immersed itself in prayers for the safety of our workers from Uttarakhand”.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sarma said, “Yesterday, as an anxious nation immersed itself in prayers and awaited the safety of our workers from Uttarakhand, the Family as usual was indulging in merry making- singing and dancing.”
“Be it 26/11 or any other solemn occasion – it is always Entertainment First for the Family,” the Assam Chief Minister said.
The video, showing leaders of the Congress party, including Rahul and Priyanka, has now gone viral on social media. It emerged while the rescue operations to pull out the 41 workers from the Silkyara tunnel were underway in Uttarkashi.

Later on Tuesday evening, all the workers who got trapped after a portion of the Silkyara tunnel, part of the Centre’s ambitious Char Dham project, collapsed due to a landslide on November 12, were taken out safely.
They were airlifted to AIIMS-Rishikesh for more medical checkups on Wednesday.
