Generally in a Hindu marriage, one see a printed image of Gods and Goddesses printed on a wedding card, however the marriage invitation card of Uttarakhand BJP MLA Suresh Rathor daughter has an additional image printed on it. The image is of Uttarakhand government’s logo. However, Rathor defended his actions in an interview to ANI in which he said, “I was marrying off a poor girl as my own daughter. Why can’t people see that? I’m a part of the govt so I used the logo on the card. It’s not a crime. I have seen several people do that.”

If you feel that it is a bit over the top then let us tell you about a man in MP who printed his daughter’s wedding card just like an Aadhaar card. The News 18 reported that to make people understand the importance of Aadhaar, the man named Virendra Tiwari, got his daughter’s wedding cards printed to look like Aadhaar card.

Earlier in March 2017, Zee news reported about a marriage invitation card which was printed with Swachh Bharat logo on it which left Prime Minister Narendra Modi highly impressed after the bride’s brother tweeted it to him. To everyone’s surprise, PM Modi not only retweeted the post but also followed bride’s brother on Twitter.
Suresh Rathor of BJP won the Jwalapur Constituency with 29513 votes in Assembly Election, in Haridwar District of Uttarakhand in 2017. Rathor won with a decent margin of 4788 votes compared over rival S P Singh Engineer of INC.
