Modi-Starmer Trade Meeting LIVE Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the scenic Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Thursday. After holding the talks, both the PMs delivered a joint address to the media. Apart from putting spotlight on India and UK’s shared values of rule of law, Prime Minister Modi also announced that nine UK Universities would be opening their colleges in India. Starmer on the other hand said that this was the biggest delegation that has come from UK to India in a decade. He also said that the purpose of his visit was to “double down” on the trade deal between India and UK.

Starmer also thanked PM Modi for a warm welcome, and later condoled that death of Air India plane crash victims. He added that India and the UK are building a “new, modern partnership” which is focussed on the future and the opportunities it brings.

Modi-Starmer Meet: Joint appearance at Global Fintech Fest

Both the PMs will later attend the sixth edition of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) in Mumbai. The event will bring together innovators, policymakers, regulators, investors, and industry experts from across the world. This year’s theme, “Empowering Finance for a Better World – Powered by AI, Augmented Intelligence, Innovation, and Inclusion,” focuses on how technology and human insight can together build a more ethical and sustainable financial future.
