The 15-year-old class 10 boy from Udaipur, who was stabbed by a fellow student, died on Monday after a four-day battle for his life, officials said.
The incident had earlier triggered communal unrest in the city. According to Udaipur Collector Arvind Poswal, the boy’s sister tied him a rakhi in the hospital hours before he passed away.

His body has been moved to the mortuary for a postmortem examination. “The body will be handed over to his family after the postmortem,”Inspector General of Police Ajaypal Lamba said.
Heavy police presence was seen outside the district hospital and in various parts of the city to maintain order, officials said. The victim was attacked by a fellow student outside their school on Friday.

Following the incident, the local police detained the attacker and arrested his father. In response to the communal unrest on Friday, the city had implemented enhanced security measures and suspended mobile internet services.
In protest of the stabbing, some members of Hindu groups set cars on fire at a motor garage and vandalised a shop in a mall. Due to the unrest, all government and private schools were closed until further notice and prohibitory orders banning public gatherings was also imposed.
