Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Bihar’s Gaya, launched a sharp attack on the Congress and RJD, accusing them of neglecting Bihar and treating its people as mere vote banks. He recalled how a former Congress Chief Minister once remarked that Biharis would not be allowed into his state, claiming that despite such insults, the RJD chose to remain silent.

“We will not allow infiltrators to snatch away the rights of the people of Bihar. RJD and Congress are supporting them and playing appeasement politics. The people of Bihar must stay alert against such parties and their leaders,” he said.

Adding to that, he noted that “no major project was ever completed in Bihar under the rule of the RJD and Congress. They never worked for the welfare of the people and remained focused only on filling their own pockets.”

Targeting the RJD, PM Modi said that under its “lantern rule,” Bihar suffered from red terror, poor education, lack of jobs and forced migration of its youth. He asserted that the NDA government is working to ensure that young people in Bihar get jobs, respect and opportunities within their home state.

‘Law against corruption covers everyone’

PM Modi alleged that the opposing parties were against the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill as most of their leaders were either in jail or out on bail. The Bill proposes the removal of the Prime Minister, chief ministers and ministers if they are arrested or detained for 30 days over serious charges.

Modi said that if government employees lose their jobs after being jailed for 50 hours, the same standards should apply to politicians.

He recalled how files and orders were once signed from jail, calling it a symbol of corrupt governance. He added that the NDA government has brought a law against corruption that even applies to the Prime Minister.

“NDA government has brought a law against corruption and the Prime Minister also comes under its purview,” he said.

Lalu’s ‘Pind Daan’ jibe at PM Modi

Ahead of Modi’s visit, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav took a dig at the Prime Minister, saying he would perform the “Pind Daan” of Nitish Kumar’s politics in Gaya. Sharing a video on X (formerly Twitter), Lalu accused Modi of “vote theft” and declared that Nitish’s political career was nearing its end.

Reacting to the jibe, RJD MP Manoj Jha said Lalu often uses metaphors to send political messages. He urged the Prime Minister to ensure that Bihar gets industries like Gujarat, instead of remaining only a supplier of labour to other states.

Speaking on the issue of illegal immigration, he claimed that the demographic balance in Bihar’s border districts was changing rapidly and accused the RJD and Congress of backing infiltrators.

Development projects worth Rs 13,000 crore

During his visit, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore in Gaya. He also held a massive roadshow with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and addressed a large public gathering.
