Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram took a hit at the BJP-led Centre alleging that central investigative agencies are being misused during elections.

Noting instances from Telangana, Chidambaram highlighted that at least four Congress candidates faced summons or their premises were searched, amid the ongoing polls.

In a statement on X, the former Union Minister wrote, “At least four Congress candidates in the Telangana elections were summoned or had their premises searched by investigating agencies in the midst of the election campaign. One of them was the Chairman of the BJP’s Manifesto Committee and resigned from the BJP on November 1.”

Chidambaram claimed, “It is obvious that all candidates of the BJP were chosen by the gods and carry divine blessings.”

The former minister further stated that the misuse of investigative agencies was clearly apparent and didn’t require any argument in a court of law.

Highlighting the impending Telangana assembly elections scheduled for November 30, with results slated for December 3, he added a sardonic comment, saying, “If the BJP is elected, the party will take the people of Telangana straight to heaven.”

Telangana is gearing up for the elections later this month on November 30, with counting scheduled to be conducted along with four other states.
