Suchana Seth, the Bengaluru-based CEO accused of killing her four-year-old son in a Goa hotel last year, has been booked again — this time for allegedly assaulting a woman constable inside Colvale Central Jail, where she is lodged as an undertrial.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday at the women’s block of the jail. The FIR states that Seth took the inward register from the women’s section without permission. When questioned by a constable, Seth allegedly used abusive language, kicked her, pulled her hair, and caused injuries.
She has been booked under Sections 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from duty) and 352 (assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The FIR was filed at the Colvale police station.
Seth was arrested in January 2024 after allegedly murdering her son at Hotel Sol Banyan Grande in Candolim, North Goa. Though she had booked the room till January 10, she cut short her stay and informed hotel staff on January 7 night that she had urgent work in Bengaluru.
She was detained the next day in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district while allegedly trying to flee in a taxi, with her son’s body stuffed in a bag. A chargesheet filed by Goa Police stated the boy died of “shock and respiratory asphyxia” due to “strangulation.” The killing reportedly took place amid an ongoing custody battle with her estranged husband.
The murder trial remains ongoing.
