The Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for November 26, 2025, outlining several restrictions across the city. The information was shared on the department’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The advisory was issued in “ view of special arrangements, “ and urges commuters to follow diversion routes to avoid congestion.

As per the directions, traffic will remain diverted or restricted on a major stretch of Jan Marg, starting from Kajheri Chowk (Sector 42/43-52/53) to Sector 42/42 Small Chowk, and extending toward Attawa Chowk, covering Sectors 35/36/42/43. Restrictions will also be implemented on the V-4 road in Sector 43. The link from Sector 43/44 Light point to the Judicial Academy Light Point, before meeting Sector 42/43 Small Chowk, is also included. The police have also appealed to residents to rely on real-time updates through @trafiiccchd on X and Instagram, as well as on the official Chandigarh Traffic Police Facebook page.

A large gathering of Samyukt Kisan Morcha is expected

Chandigarh may see the arrival of more than 10,000 farmers from over 30 organisations associated with the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), as per a report by the Indian Express. The mobilisation marks the fifth anniversary of the protests against the now-repealed farm laws. To accommodate the gathering, the Sector 43 Dussehra Ground has been designated as the official protest site.

Around 3,00 police personnel will be deployed across the city to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain law and order. As per the security plans, mobile patrol units, barricading, route supervision teams and drone-based monitoring will be active.

Traffic pressure is likely near the PU and Mohali entry points

Authorities and police remain on alert following the November 10 disruption linked to Panjab University senate polls, when sudden gatherings resulted in hours of stalled traffic. Given the expected turnout, heavy traffic is expected in areas around Sector 43, routes entering from Mohali and Panjab University.

Meanwhile, as per a report by the Times of India, the Panchkula Traffic Police has declared Sector-5 a daily vehicle-free corridor from 6 am to 7:30 am. ACP (Traffic) Surender Singh told the news outlet that the restrictions will apply across the entire loop, covering stretches near Parade Ground, Night Food Market and Shalimar Ground, Bella Vista and the adjoining roads. The decision has been taken to encourage fitness activities.
