Robert Vadra news: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a chargesheet against businessman Robert Vadra in a money-laundering case connected to UK-based defence dealer Sanjay Bhandari, reigniting scrutiny over alleged foreign assets and financial links. The chargesheet has been submitted before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court..

Vadra’s Statement Recorded Under PMLA

According to officials, Vadra’s statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) was recorded in July this year. The agency has accused him of involvement in overseas properties and financial transactions linked to Bhandari, who faces charges of holding undisclosed assets abroad.

The ED’s probe originates from income-tax raids on Bhandari in 2016, which allegedly unearthed emails and documents indicating connections with Vadra and his associates. Officials claim these documents referred to the renovation of a London property believed to be owned by Bhandari, reportedly refurbished following Vadra’s instructions and through intermediaries tied to him.

Haryana Land Deals and Offshore Fund Routes

Over the years, the ED has also investigated land transactions in Haryana involving Vadra, Bhandari, and related individuals. Investigators allege these deals were part of a broader network used to route funds and acquire assets. Bhandari, who left India in 2016, has since been declared a fugitive economic offender by a Delhi court.

The agency had earlier attached multiple properties in India linked to Vadra or entities associated with him, asserting that they represented proceeds of crime from Bhandari’s offshore dealings.

Vadra, however, has consistently rejected the allegations, calling the investigation politically motivated. He maintained, “I do not own any property in London” and questioned the ED’s interpretation of the documents recovered in the case.
