As the elections in the state are currently underway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters in Rajasthan to score a turnout record on Saturday during the assembly elections, where polling began at 7 AM.
“Voting is being held today for Rajasthan Assembly elections. I request all the voters to create a new record by exercising their franchise in maximum numbers,” PM Modi wrote on X.

“On this occasion, my best wishes to all the young friends of the state who are going to vote for the first time.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge highlighted the pivotal role of voters in determining the state’s fate. Kharge urged Rajasthan’s electorate to vote wisely, ensuring a future marked by social security, economic empowerment, and prudent decision-making.
“The aware people of Rajasthan know that their valuable vote is the guarantee of their happiness. The people of Rajasthan, the land of great heroes and a symbol of social unity, are requested to vote and ensure that there are no obstacles in their path to a better life,” Kharge said.
Incumbent Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also made a last pitch to the voters urging them to “ignore mistakes” that might have happened in the past and vote keeping the ‘state’s interest in mind’.
Gehlot stated that his government’s schemes would only continue if the Congress regained power and alleged that if the BJP came to power, it would dismantle all schemes.
Gehlot told ANI, “The government will be repeated this time; it is sure. Right now, the mood of the people is to repeat the government. In Kerala, for 70 years, Congress and CPI(M) used to come to power alternately, but this time the CPI(M) government was re-elected because they did good work.”

Congress leader and Gehlot’s former deputy Sachin Pilot, after casting his vote in Jaipur, said, “I hope people will exercise their right to vote today. I hope the public will make the right decision by considering our vision for the state for the next 5 years. I believe Congress will form the government again with a comfortable majority.”
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also urged voters to cast their votes in large numbers and choose Congress for the state’s benefit. ‘Today, go out in large numbers and exercise your franchise. Elect a Congress government that is beneficial to the people and has guarantees.”
BJP leader and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia also joined the chorus, encouraging voters, especially first-timers, to participate actively in the electoral process.
Voting for 199 seats of the Rajasthan Assembly is currently underway, determining the political destiny of 1,862 candidates. Elections are taking place for 199 seats out of the total 200, following the demise of Congress candidate and incumbent MLA Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
