Rajasthan Elections 2023: BJP leader and South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri has once again hit headlines with a controversial remark regarding the elections in Rajasthan. Bidhuri, who was handed the responsibility of the Tonk Assembly seat just after his objectionable remarks against BSP MPO Danish Ali in Parliament drew flak from several quarters, claimed on Tuesday that Pakistan was keeping a keen eye on the Tonk seat.
These remarks came during his address at a public rally in Tonk district, Rajasthan, as part of the upcoming assembly polls campaign. Notably, Congress MLA and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is contesting the polls from the Tonk constituency.
The South Delhi MP further alleged that people in Tonk provide shelter to members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). ‘Lahore is keeping an eye on the elections here… We have to take care that laddus should not be distributed in Lahore after the election takes place,’ he said.
He claimed that terrorists like Hamas also have their eye on the outcome of the upcoming elections.

This isn’t the first time Bidhuri has stirred controversy with his statements. Previously, during a special session of Parliament, he made derogatory comments about Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Kunwar Danish Ali, prompting demands from opposition leaders for disciplinary action.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took Bidhuri’s statement seriously and warned of ‘strict action’ if such behaviour occurred again. BJP President JP Nadda also summoned Bidhuri in response to the incident.
The upcoming elections for Rajasthan’s 200-member assembly will be crucial in determining the leadership of the state and setting the stage for next year’s Lok Sabha polls. Assembly polls in Rajasthan are scheduled to be held on November 25, with the vote-counting slated for December 3.
