Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he could find time to watch a cricket match, but did not visit ethnic strife-hit Manipur.
Speaking at a rally at Shahpura in Jaipur district, Priyanka Gandhi also said that if PM Modi claims to be a fakir then how come the BJP was the richest party under his rule. She was addressing the public meeting in support of Congress candidates Manish Yadav and Indraj Gurjar.
“In the recent world cup, our team reached the final with their hard work…. Modi ji reached there so he might also get a bit of credit if the team wins,” she said, adding the prime minister would go to a place if there is pride and honour, but would stay away from a crisis situation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the stadium which bears his name in Ahmedabad to watch the Mens’ CWC final match on Sunday. India had lost by six wickets in the keenly-watched match, ending the host team’s undefeated run in the tournament. The Australians chased 241 in just 43 overs.
Further, Gandhi also alleged that the Union government under PM Modi waived debts of big industrialists and neglected the poor, adding that the Congress government provided relief to people from inflation by holding special camps.
