Hours after AAP leader Atishi claimed she was threatened to join BJP, the party’s Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday slammed the Delhi minister for her claim and challenged her to provide details of her allegation that she was approached to join the saffron party or be prepared for legal action.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Sachdeva warned of taking legal action against Atishi if she fails to provide proof for her claim that the BJP approached her to join it through her close friend.

“If Atishi fails to provide details of the person who she claims approached her on our behalf to join the BJP, we will take legal action against her. She can’t put baseless allegations against us and get away with it,” he said.
Another BJP MP Manoj Tiwari demanded an apology from the AAP minister or being prepared to face legal action if she does not provide proof to back her claims. “We want Atishi to tender an apology for putting a false allegation against us or provide proof of the person who approached her.”

Earlier in the day, Delhi Minister Atishi claimed that the BJP approached her to join the party to “save my political career”. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader also asserted that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) would arrest her within a month if she refused to join.
“I was approached by the BJP through a person very close to me who asked me to join the BJP to save and enhance my political career or I will be arrested within a month,” she said during a press conference.
Accusing the saffron party of attempting to topple the AAP and the Delhi government, she added,“After arresting four of our senior leaders – Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal – the BJP is conspiring to arrest four more leaders of the AAP. They (BJP) thought AAP will fall with the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal and the senior leadership. Now as they found it is not going to happen, they are targeting us.”
The minister also alleged that the ED would soon conduct raids on these leaders’ residences and issue summons to them before making the arrests.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not opposing the bail. Singh had been arrested by the agency in connection with the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy scam case.
In total, 15 individuals, including notable AAP leaders like Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Vijay Nair, along with Chief Arvind Kejriwal, have been arrested in connection with the case.
