Narendra Modi's third term in office comes after the NDA emerged as the winner in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, winning 293 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. The INDIA bloc of Opposition parties, on the other hand, managed to secure 233 seats which is 39 short of the majority mark of 272. On Friday, the newly-elected MPs of the NDA met in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building and unanimously endorsed Narendra Modi as their leader, paving way for him to stake claim and form the government as Prime Minister.
