Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (January 8) virtually laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh. His current visit to Andhra is his first to the state since beginning his third consecutive term in 2024. The event, attended by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also reflected well on the alliance between the BJP, TDP and Janasena in the state.

Among the key initiatives, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a new railway zone and NTPC’s integrated green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district. The green hydrogen hub, a collaboration between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), aims to bolster India’s green energy ecosystem.

The Krishnapatnam Industrial Hub, with a Rs 1,518 crore investment on a 2,500-acre site, was also launched. This project is expected to create employment opportunities for 50,000 people in its first phase.

Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for a Rs 1,877 crore bulk drug park in Nakkapalli, which is set to attract Rs 11,542 crore in investments. The park, spread over 2,002 acres, is anticipated to generate jobs for 54,000 people.

The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation various rail and road infrastructure projects, emphasising the government’s commitment to regional development and industrial growth in Andhra Pradesh.
