Preparations ongoing at Rashtrapati Bhavan
In preparation for the swearing-in ceremony, the Deputy Press Secretary to the President announced that Rashtrapati Bhavan would remain closed to the public from June 5 to June 9.
Top leaders from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Seychelles are expected to attend the ceremony, reflecting New Delhi’s ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’ which emphasizes relations with key island nations in the Indian Ocean region, the MEA said.
