What is so special about the Navi Mumbai International Airport
The NMIA features a 32,000 sq ft digital art programme, 4,000 sq ft of LED screens, and is fully DigiYatra-enabled for to give passengers the comfort of seamless travel. Flyers can pre-book their parking, check in at 66 counters, or use 22 self-baggage drop points to save their time. In fact, there’ an airport app which will allow passengers to order food from anywhere and get it delivered to them. What makes this airport even more fascinating are the gaming zones, the easy metro connectivity, and paperless transactions across non-aero areas which promise a hassle-free airport experience.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport also features multiple runways and has AI-equipped passenger management systems. It also has eco-friendly designs which prioritise sustainability with rainwater harvesting, green landscapes, and noise reduction technology.
PM Modi to inaugurate Mumbai Metro Line-3, to link South Mumbai to suburbs
The new Mumbai Metro Line-3, stretching 33.5 km from Cuffe Parade to Aarey JVLR with 27 stations, will serve about 13 lakh passengers every day. The final Phase 2B of the project will connect South Mumbai’s famous cultural areas like Fort, Kala Ghoda, and Marine Drive with key financial and government centres such as the Bombay High Court, Mantralaya, RBI, BSE, and Nariman Point.
The metro has been planned to link smoothly with other transport systems — including railways, airports, other metro lines, and the monorail — to improve last-mile travel and ease congestion across the city.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch “Mumbai One,” an Integrated Common Mobility App that will bring together 11 public transport services under one platform. These include Mumbai Metro Lines 1, 2A, 3, and 7, Mumbai Monorail, Navi Mumbai Metro, Mumbai Suburban Railways, and bus services run by BEST, Thane, Mira Bhayander, Kalyan Dombivli, and Navi Mumbai transport authorities.
