Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the transformative impact of his government’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” initiative, emphasising its role in driving national development. Addressing the people of Jharkhand via video conferencing, PM Modi reiterated that the Centre’s priority remains the upliftment of tribals, the poor, women, and youth.
During his address, PM Modi bowed down to Jharkhand’s spiritual heritage, mentioning Baba Baidyanath and Baba Basukinath, and paying homage to Birsa Munda. Reflecting on a warm welcome at Ranchi Airport, where he received a ‘jawa’ offering during the ‘Karma Parv’ festival, he expressed his admiration for the cultural richness of the region.
The Prime Minister flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains, stating that this marks a pivotal moment in Jharkhand’s developmental journey. “Jharkhand is receiving railway projects worth over Rs 650 crores, improved connectivity, and new pucca houses for thousands of families under the PM Awas Yojana,” he said. He also extended his congratulations to the people of Jharkhand, noting how these advancements will significantly bolster the state’s economy, particularly in the eastern region.
He pointed out the transformative impact of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” noting that while development was once limited to certain areas, today it encompasses the entire nation. “The focus is now on empowering the poor, Scheduled Tribes, Dalits, women, youth, and farmers. With modern infrastructure like the Vande Bharat trains, Jharkhand is making strides in development,” PM Modi stated.
The Centre has also increased investments in Jharkhand, with over 50 railway stations undergoing modernization under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, and the complete electrification of the state’s railway network achieved. PM Modi highlighted the massive increase in the state’s railway budget, which now stands at Rs 7,000 crore, a 16-fold rise compared to 10 years ago.
As part of his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stones for critical infrastructure projects, including the Madhupur Bypass Line and the Hazaribag Town Coaching Depot, while distributing sanction letters to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
PM Modi is on a three-day visit to Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gujarat, with his next stops in Gujarat on September 16 and Odisha on September 17.
