In the vibrant start-up hub of Bengaluru, where unusual stories seem to be the norm, a recent incident added to the city’s ‘Peak Bengaluru’ moments. A passenger in an Uber auto was astonished to discover that his driver was none other than the Chief Growth Officer of Juspay, a popular payment gateway for e-commerce companies.

Sharing his experience, the passenger, Manasvi Saxena, took to Twitter, saying, “My Uber auto driver tonight was the Chief Growth Officer at Juspay, doing user research for Namma Yatri. If this isn’t peak Bengaluru, then what is!” Saxena, who himself co-founded a digital payment platform called MoMoney, was amazed by the encounter.

In the same tweet thread, Saxena mentioned that he wrote a document about taking user calls the very day he found out his Uber driver’s real job. He was taken aback by the driver’s articulate conversation, stating, “It didn’t feel like a user interview but a casual chit chat, and yet he asked all the right questions. I only got suspicious because the conversation was well articulated; else there was no telling.”

Others also shared their ‘Peak Bengaluru’ moments. One user exclaimed, “Where else but Namma Bengaluru,” highlighting the city’s uniqueness. Another user humorously suggested, “Time to ask our auto driver his real identity.”

The Uber auto driver in question, Shah MS, is an IIM Bangalore graduate who has been with Juspay for two years. While driving incognito, Shah was conducting user research for the Namma Yatri app. This incident showcases Bengaluru’s spirit, where professionals seamlessly blend into everyday roles, often surprising passengers with their diverse talents and backgrounds.

This peculiar incident is just one among many in the city’s ongoing series of ‘Peak Bengaluru’ moments. Previously, a viral image showed a Bengaluru auto passenger paying the fare by scanning the driver’s smartwatch. These stories reflect the city’s tech-savvy culture and the inventive spirit that defines Bengaluru’s identity.
