Odisha Election 2024 Phase 3 Voting Highlights: Odisha recorded a significant voter turnout of 70.99 per cent by 9 am on Sunday in the six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 assembly segments that went to polls on Saturday. Polling was held in Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri parliamentary constituencies alongside 42 assembly segments within their jurisdictions. Chief Electoral Officer N.B. Among the Lok Sabha seats, Sambalpur observed the highest voter turnout at 65.91 per cent, and within the 42 assembly segments, Pallahara Vidhan Sabha recorded the highest turnout at 73.86 per cent, while the lowest was at 42.10 per cent in Barabati Cuttack segment by 5 pm. A total of 447 candidates, including 64 for the Lok Sabha seats and 383 for the assembly constituencies, were in the fray in the sixth phase. More than 94.48 lakh voters were eligible to exercise their franchise in 10,581 booths in the third round of simultaneous elections in the state.

A large number of people expressed frustration over EC's curbs on carrying mobile phones to polling booths. Some were even seen returning to their homes without casting their votes over restrictions on using mobile phones. They alleged that there was no prior information on such restriction.
The highest 53.29 per cent voting was recorded in Keonjhar seat followed by Sambalpur with 52.77%, Dhenkanal with 50.40%, Puri 48.71%, Cuttack 43.52%, and Bhubaneswar with 42.53%
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik walked to the Aerodrome Upper Primary School near his residence in Bhubaneswar to cast his vote. "We will form a stable government in the state," said the CM.

Security arrangements are in place for the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. Approximately 35,000 personnel, including 121 companies of central forces, have been deployed across various booths.
An elderly woman voter fell ill and passed away at a polling booth in Bhapur area of Nayagarh assembly segment, while a polling agent died at a booth under Hindol assembly segment of Dhenkanal Lok Sabha seat.

In this eastern state, a total of 64 candidates are contending for the six Lok Sabha seats, while 383 contestants are vying for the 42 assembly segments. Although it marks the third round of polls within the state, nationally it corresponds to the sixth phase of elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other senior BJP leaders, engaged in an extensive campaign effort.
