The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in isolated areas of Mumbai on Saturday, issuing an orange alert for the city. Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts in Maharashtra’s Konkan region are also under an orange alert, ANI reported. 

Mumbai experienced rainfall on the morning of July 13, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions in several areas. The city has been receiving heavy rains for the past few days, with 61.69 mm recorded in the last 24 hours. A high tide warning of 3.87 meters has been issued for 4:06 pm today. The IMD predicts maximum and minimum temperatures of around 29 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Rain in Delhi, Noida

Meanwhile, Delhi and neighboring Noida witnessed rain on Saturday morning, resulting in waterlogging and traffic snarls but bringing relief from the July heat. Visuals showed vehicles navigating waterlogged roads at the Barapullah flyover in Delhi and light rain at Janpath. The IMD forecasts isolated rainfall, cloudy skies, and light thunderstorms in Delhi and Noida throughout Saturday and Sunday, with light rain continuing until July 17.

Authorities have issued an alert for rising water levels in the Yamuna River, affecting residents of villages along its banks in Noida. These villages experienced severe flooding during last year’s monsoon, causing significant inconvenience to residents in both Delhi and Noida.
