The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain across several states until July 15. Heavy rainfall is expected in Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Meanwhile, lighter showers are anticipated in Uttarakhand, Central India, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Mumbai is currently under a yellow alert, according to the IMD.

After a prolonged dry spell following a delayed monsoon arrival, Delhi has witnessed continuous rainfall in the past two days, providing relief from the prevailing heat. The IMD anticipates an escalation in rainfall intensity in the coming days, with cloudy skies and light showers forecasted for July 11. Temperatures are expected to range from 28°C to 36°C. Moreover, heavier showers and cooler temperatures are predicted for July 12.
Uttar Pradesh and Bihar weather update
Recent heavy rains have significantly raised humidity levels across many cities in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department forecasts continued rainfall across both eastern and western parts of the state for the next five days. Lucknow is particularly on alert for rain tomorrow. Certain districts in Bihar have experienced heavy downpours, heightening concerns about potential flooding due to the monsoon’s impact in the region.
IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Himachal till July 15
Several regions in Himachal Pradesh received light rainfall on Wednesday, resulting in the closure of 28 roads, as reported by the IMD. A yellow alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday, warning of strong winds, lightning, and thunder. Sporadic rain is expected to persist until July 15.
Met forecasts heavy downpour in West Bengal
The Met office has forecasted torrential rains in north Bengal until July 13, with concerns about possible floods in some areas already affected by heavy downpours. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has instructed authorities to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary assistance to affected residents.
Heavy rainfall in parts of Rajasthan
Rainfall is expected in parts of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, and Ajmer divisions in the next 24 hours, with heavy rain possible in Udaipur division on July 11. Monsoon troughs shifting towards the Himalayas from Thursday may lead to decreased rain activity, with sporadic light to moderate rain expected in certain areas from July 11 to 15.
