Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple projects in Maharashtra, totalling over Rs 11,200 crore, via video conferencing on Sunday, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Among the key developments, PM Modi will inaugurate the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).

The underground section between District Court and Swargate, built at a cost of approximately Rs 1,810 crore, will enhance urban connectivity. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj extension of Pune Metro Phase-1. The extension, spanning 5.46 km and costing around Rs 2,955 crore, will feature three underground stations—Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.

Additionally, PM Modi will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation, a significant project developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Spanning 7,855 acres and located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, this project is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and is set to boost economic activity in the Marathwada region. The project, approved by the Centre, has a total cost of over Rs 6,400 crore and will be developed in three phases.

In another development, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the revamped Solapur Airport, enhancing connectivity for business travellers, tourists, and investors. The upgraded terminal will now handle 4.1 lakh passengers annually, significantly improving air traffic in the region.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a memorial commemorating Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School at Bhidewada, honouring her legacy as a pioneer in women’s education in India.
