Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Election 2023 Exit Poll Results Highlights: Will the BJP and the Congress be able to turn the tables in the heartland? While MP is ruled by BJP, Congress rules Chhattisgarh and all eyes are now on the exit poll predictions for the Assembly elections 2023, which were held in five key states during November.
In Madhya Pradesh, the two main political parties in the fierce battle are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. There are 230 assembly seats in the state on which 2,533 candidates have contested. The voting took place on November 17, with a total voter turnout of 71.26 per cent. The Agar Malwa district recorded the highest voter turnout at 82 per cent.
In Chhattisgarh as well, the three main political parties in fray are the BJP, Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The polling for the 90-member Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly concluded in two phases on November 7 and 17. In the first phase, voting was held on 20 seats in 12 districts under Bastar division the most Naxal-infested region in the state. The first phase recorded a voter turnout of 78 per cent.
The remaining 70 constituencies underwent polling in the second phase that saw a footfall of 68.15 per cent voters and included important candidates in the fray — Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo along with several other leaders from Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress remains confident of retaining the power with Bhupesh Baghel being the face of the campaign. On the other hand, the BJP is banking totally on PM Narendra Modi’s magic.
Will the BJP and Congress be able to turn the tables in both states? The answer to this question will be revealed on December 3. Exit polls are conducted by professional survey agencies whose agents interview voters after they have cast their ballot in order to gauge the people’s mood. The data is then collated to offer an estimate of the number of seats each party could win in a particular seat and state.
