The Janata Dal (United) on Sunday released the names of all candidates from all 16 Lok Sabha seats it is contesting in Bihar, dropping two sitting MPs and fielding two turncoats.

The declaration was made by the party’s national vice president, Vashishth Narayan Singh, alongside several other senior JD(U) leaders.

Among the alterations, sitting MPs were replaced in Sitamarhi and Siwan constituencies. Devesh Chandra Thakur, the legislative council chairman, will represent JD(U) in Sitamarhi, while Vijay Laxmi Kushwaha secured the ticket for Siwan after joining the party with her husband, Ramesh Singh Kushwaha, the former state president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha, an NDA ally.

Another notable addition to the candidate list is Lovely Anand, who recently switched from the RJD to JD(U). Anand will compete in the upcoming elections from the Sheohar constituency.
