The Election Commission has rescheduled the counting date for the Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim assembly polls to June 2 from the previously announced June 4, according to a statement released on Sunday in New Delhi.
Initially, it was planned to tally the votes for these two states’ assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha poll votes on June 4. However, given that the terms of the two assemblies are concluding on June 2, the EC decided to advance the counting date.
The schedule for the parliamentary constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim remains unchanged. Additionally, assembly polls are concurrently being held in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha along with the parliamentary elections.
