Lok Sabha election 2024 date: In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce the date and the full schedule soon. In the last general elections, the dates were announced by the poll body on March 10, 2019. As soon as the election dates will be announced, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into force, and all political parties are asked to strictly adhere to it. It remains into force till the results day.

Along with the Lok Sabha elections, Assembly elections for Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh are also expected to go to polls simultaneously.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ECI had announced the polls will be in seven phases, starting from April 11. The Lok Sabha elections concluded on May 19. Results were announced on May 23, 2019.

In the first phase, a total of 91 constituencies went to vote, 97 in the second phase, 115 in third, 71 in fourth, 51 in fifth and 59 constituencies in sixth and seventh phases, the ECI had announced.
