Lok Sabha election 2019 dates, schedule: The week began with the Election Commission announcing the poll dates for the much awaited Lok Sabha elections 2019. The 2019 general elections will be contested in seven phases beginning from April 11 to May 19 with the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura going to Lok Sabha polls in different phases.
Manipur and Tripura will see two phases in polls while Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim will be done in only one phase. The Lok Sabha polls in Assam will see three phases with the third on April 23.
Moreover, the election poll panel has also declared that the Assembly elections will be held in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim along with the Lok Sabha elections.
