India celebrates its 67th Republic Day on Tuesday, with French President Francois Hollande as the chief guest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the memorial at Amar Jawan Jyoti.

A 76-member French Army contingent led by a French military band consisting 48 musicians marching on Rajpath presented a ceremonial salute to the President of India.

On this occasion Google Doodle celebrates Republic Day lined with six camels.Twitter has launched a new emoji to celebrate India’s Republic Day. The #RepublicDay emoji was launched by Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, who is essaying the role of Neerja Bhanot in the upcoming film ‘Neerja’, the youngest recipient of India’s highest peacetime military award for bravery, the Ashok Chakra.
