A massive fire broke out on the third floor of a shopping mall in southern Kolkata on Friday, prompting authorities to evacuate the building, an official reported. Ten fire tenders were dispatched to tackle the blaze, which ignited at around 12:15 PM in the Kasba area.
“As of now, there are no reports of any injuries. Firefighting operations are ongoing, and some firefighters have entered the building wearing oxygen masks,” the official told PTI.
The entire area has been engulfed in smoke, leading to regulated traffic movement in front of the mall, according to a senior officer of Kolkata Traffic Police.
