Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, has broken his silence after being expelled from the party. In an emotional message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he reaffirmed his deep devotion to his parents and subtly accused unnamed party insiders of betrayal.
“My dear mom and dad… my whole world is just you two,” Tej Pratap wrote. “Any order given by you is greater than God. If you are there, then I have everything. I just need your trust and love, and nothing else.”
Tej takes Swipe at ‘greedy people’ in the party
Without naming names, Tej Pratap appeared to criticise some RJD members, likening them to “Jaichand” — a historical figure associated with betrayal. “If papa wasn’t there, this party wouldn’t exist, nor would greedy people like Jaichand who do politics with me,” he said.
Tej Pratap’s RJD expulsion over alleged romantic relationship
Tej Pratap’s statement comes days after the RJD expelled him for six years on May 25, citing “irresponsible behaviour.” The disciplinary action followed a controversial post from his Facebook account, which claimed he had been in a 12-year romantic relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, in a strong statement, announced both his son’s expulsion from the party and a severance of personal ties. “Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice,” Lalu said. “He will no longer have any role in the party or the family.”
In response, Tej Pratap initially denied posting the message and alleged that his social media accounts were hacked. “My platforms have been hacked, and my pictures are being wrongly edited to harass and defame me and my family,” he stated, urging his followers not to believe rumours.
Tej Pratap was earlier married to Aishwarya Roy. They got married in 2018 and started living separately a few months after their marriage.
