Jubilee Hills Bypoll Result 2025: The result for Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, seen as a crucial test of strength for the Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will be announced today (November 14). The bypoll took place on November 11 and recorded a 48.49% voter turnout with over 1.94 lakh votes cast. Counting is currently underway at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad’s Yousufguda. The counting of votes will start with 101 postal ballots before moving to electronic voting machines (EVMs).

District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner RV Kannan said all arrangements have been finalised, with 42 counting tables set up after special permission from the Election Commission. 

What led to bypolls in Jubilee Hills?

Results are expected to be compiled over 10 rounds of counting. The seat, which fell vacant following the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath in June.

Candidates in Jubilee Hills bypoll

The bypoll has drawn 58 candidates, though the real fight is among Congress, BRS and BJP, IANS reported. The Congress has fielded Naveen Yadav, who enjoys support from Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM, while the BJP is represented by Lankala Deepak Reddy. The BRS has nominated Maganti Sunitha, wife of the late Gopinath, hoping to retain the constituency.

Security at counting centre

Security has been tightened around the counting centre. Joint Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal said special police teams have been deployed, and Section 144 — prohibiting gatherings of more than 20 people — has been enforced to prevent untoward incidents.

In the 2023 Assembly elections, BRS leader Maganti Gopinath achieved a hat-trick victory in Jubilee Hills, defeating Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin by a margin of 16,337 votes.

Gopinath secured 80,549 votes, while Azharuddin garnered 64,212. The BJP’s Deepak Reddy finished third with 25,866 votes, and AIMIM’s Farazuddin trailed in fourth place with 7,848 votes.
