A Hyderabad-based couple allegedly killed their two children before dying by suicide on Monday night, driven to despair by financial distress. The tragic incident occurred in the Habsiguda area, where 44-year-old Chandrasekhar Reddy, his wife Kavitha, and their children were found dead in their rented home.
According to initial police investigations, Reddy had been jobless since quitting his position as a junior lecturer at a private college. Authorities suspect that the couple poisoned their son and strangled their daughter before taking their own lives. Their son was a Class V student, while their daughter was studying in Class IX.
A suicide note recovered from the house detailed the family’s financial struggles. “It is suspected that the couple poisoned their son and throttled their daughter before hanging themselves,” a police officer stated. The letter has been sent for forensic examination.
The family originally hailed from Wanaparthy in Telangana and had moved to Hyderabad in search of better opportunities. Police have registered a case and are investigating further.
