Former Haryana finance minister and BJP candidate from the Narnaund assembly seat, Captain Abhimanyu, is the wealthiest candidate in the state with declared assets totaling Rs 417 crore. According to his election affidavit, the 56-year-old has listed combined moveable and immovable assets, including those of his wife, valued at Rs 369.03 crore and Rs 47.96 crore, respectively.

Although he has reported Rs 1.1 lakh in cash on hand, Captain Abhimanyu’s affidavit highlights significant investments in bonds, debentures, and shares amounting to Rs 251 crore. Additionally, he owns gold and other valuables worth Rs 21.53 lakh.

Savitri Jindal, running as an independent from the Hisar constituency, has declared assets worth Rs 270 crore. The 76-year-old has moveable assets valued at Rs 190 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 80 crore. Notably, she does not own a car, as per her affidavit. Savitri is the mother of BJP MP Naveen Jindal and widow of industrialist O.P. Jindal. She is up against Haryana minister and current MLA from Hisar, Kamal Gupta.

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, contesting from the Garhi Sampla Kiloi seat, has declared assets worth Rs 26.48 crore, including those of his wife. His moveable assets are valued at Rs 7.20 crore, while immovable assets total Rs 19.28 crore. He owns gold worth Rs 1.32 crore, silver worth Rs 23.25 lakh, and several firearms.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Singh Chautala, contesting from Ellenabad, has declared assets worth Rs 61 crore, including his spouse’s. His moveable and immovable assets are valued at Rs 37.31 crore and Rs 23.70 crore, respectively. He owns two tractors, a jeep, four cars, gold worth Rs 60.90 lakh, silver worth Rs 1.70 lakh, and diamonds valued at Rs 15 lakh.

Jannayak Janta Party leader and former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, running from Uchana Kalan, has declared assets totaling Rs 82.08 crore. His moveable assets amount to Rs 35.73 crore, while immovable assets are worth Rs 46.35 crore. He also owns gold worth Rs 1.85 crore and diamonds worth Rs 62.90 lakh.

Polling for Haryana’s 90 assembly seats will take place on October 5, with votes counted on October 8. The ruling BJP is seeking a third consecutive term but faces stiff competition from a resurgent Congress hoping to leverage anti-incumbency sentiment.
