The Bengaluru police have lodged a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, accusing him of harassing a minor at his residence in the city.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, she visited Yediyurappa’s residence on February 2 to seek justice in a rape case involving her daughter and requested him to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT), as The Indian Express reported.

The FIR alleges that Yediyurappa took the child to a room and closed the door. They remained inside for approximately five minutes, during which he reportedly sexually harassed the victim. Upon exiting the room, when questioned, Yediyurappa purportedly claimed that he was verifying whether the girl had been raped or not, as stated by the victim’s mother in the FIR.
Subsequently, B S Yediyurappa allegedly apologised and urged not to disclose the incident to anyone.

The Sadashivanagar police have filed charges under Section 8 (commit sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Section 354 (a) (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
