The exit poll results declared for the five states that went to polls between November 7 and November 30 have pointed to the possibility of a cliffhanger in most states. While the Congress maintains a lead and is projected to retain power in Chhattisgarh, the Bharatiya Janata Party may have an edge in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Mizoram looks heading towards a status quo, although the survey predictions are still too close to call.

While the Congress hopes to carry its momentum from the Karnataka win to other states and make a statement ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is riding on the anti-incumbency factor and acts of alleged corruption by the Congress in states it is in power to seek change from voters. The BJP’s campaign has largely been headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the party refused to name a chief ministerial candidate in Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh. Much will be at stake for him too.

Rajasthan Exit Poll Results 2023

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stares at the bleak possibility of returning to power in the state for a second straight term in office. According to the exit polls data released on Thursday, the BJP has a clear upper hand in the state with seven out of 10 exit polls giving BJP the lead ahead of Congress in the state. ABP-CVoter, Dainik Bhaskar, Jan Ki Baat, P-Marq, Republic TV-Matrize, Times Now-ETG and TV9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat have predicted a BJP win in the state with seats ranging between 94-130 seats.

On the other hand, India Today-Axis My India, India TV-CNX and News24-Today’s Chanakya have given the Congress an upper hand with projections of a win in the range of 86-106 seats. None of the surveys that favour a victory for the BJP have given more than 75 seats to the Congress. In the 2018 elections, the Congress won 100 seats, just one seat short of majority but managed to form a government with the help of independents. The BJP, on the other hand, settled at 73.

Madhya Pradesh Exit Polls 2023

The exit poll findings for the MP Assembly elections have hinted at a tight contest in the state, with three surveys predicting a safrron sweep in the state while three others predict a slight lead for the Congress. Two others have placed Congress in the lead while one has given BJP an upper hand.

According to the India Today-Axis My India survey, the BJP is slated to win 140-162 seats in the 230-member Assembly where the number required to form a government in 116. News 24-Today’s Chanakya has predicted 151 seats to the BJP while the India TV-CNX poll predicted 140-159 seats for the party. However, AMP News-CVoter (113-137), Dainik Bhaskar (105-120), Jan Ki Baat (102-125), Times Now-ETG (109-125) and TV9Bharatvarsh-Polstrat (111-121) have given the Congress a slight edge over the BJP.

Chhattisgarh Exit Poll Results 2023

Exit poll data provides a clear edge to the Congress, with most surveys placing the Bhupesh Baghel-led party in the lead. According to News24-Today’s Chanakya, the Congress is slated to win 57 of the 90 seats in the state while Times Now-ETG gives it 48-56 seats. Republic TV-Matrize (44-52), Dainik Bhaskar (46-55) and India TV-CNX (46-56) surveys have also hinted at a Congress win.

In some hope for the BJP some other exit polls have predicted that the Congress may be ahead but will fall short of the majority mark of 46. ABP News-C Voter, India Today-My Axis, and Republic TV-Matrize gave the Congress between 40 and 53 seats, while projecting 34-42 seats for the BJP.

Telangana Exit Poll Results 2023

A spirited campaign by the Congress and the slew of guarantees it lined up for the voters may have yielded favourable outcomes with exit polls so far placing it ahead of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti. Five exit poll surveys, the data for which was available at the time of filing this report, have placed Congress ahead in the 119-member Assembly with two of them giving it a clear majority.

As per the India TV-CNX exit poll, the Congress was slated to win 63-79 seats against 31-47 for the BRS and 5-7 for the AIMIM. News 24-Today’s Chanakya predicts 71 seats to the Congress. Times Now-ETG survey predicts 60-70 seats for the Congress, 37-45 seats for the BRS 6-8 seats for the BJP and 5-7 seats for AIMIM. V9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat exit polls show the Congress and the BRS locked in a close fight with 49-59 and 48-58 seats, respectively. Republic TV-Matrize exit polls show the Congress winning 58-68 seats, while the BRS is predicted to win 46-56 seats.

Mizoram Exit Poll Results

Mizoram may have thrown up a fractured mandate, suggest two prominent exit polls with neither giving the ruling Chief Minister Zoramthanga-led Mizo National Front (MNF) or its challenger Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) a clear edge. According to Jan Ki Baat, the ZPM is predicted to win 15-25 seats while the MNF is slated to win 10-14 seats.

India TV-CNX exit polls, on the other hand, predict 14-18 seats for the MNF, 12-16 for the ZPM, and 8-10 for the Congress. ABP News-CVoter has predicted 15-21 seats to MNF and 12-18 seats to the ZPM. Times Now-ETG exit polls predict a victory for the MNF in 14-18 seats, 10-14 seats for the ZPM, and 9-13 seats for the Congress.
