ECI Vote Counting Live, Bihar Election Results 2025: Election Commission shows BJP leading with 2 seats, but Tejashwi says ‘we are forming the government’

No. ECI is yet to display its voting trends. But according to initial TV channel reports, early trends showed the ruling NDA leading in 49 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc was ahead in 39, as counting continued across all 243 constituencies. Among individual parties, the BJP was leading in 29 seats, JD(U) in 18, RJD in 32, and Congress in seven, reported PTI. Officials said postal ballots were being counted first, followed by EVM votes. Counting began at 8 am at 46 centres spread across 38 districts.

This election saw a record turnout of 67.13%. Held in two phases on November 6 and 11, the polls allowed 7.45 crore voters to choose from 2,616 candidates contesting for 243 seats.

Despite predictions favouring the NDA, the opposition INDIA bloc remains hopeful. Tejashwi Yadav has claimed his alliance will win by a wide margin, insisting that the people have voted for change in Bihar.

Muzaffarpur’s Sushil Kumar said that security teams have been posted across the area and every location is under CCTV watch and video recording. He added that they are on full alert and gatherings of more than four people are not permitted.

Bihar registered its highest-ever turnout in the recent Assembly elections, with 67.13% voters stepping out to cast their ballots. Phase 1 saw 65.08% voting, while Phase 2 recorded an impressive 69.20%. Among all 243 seats, Katihar led with a turnout of 79.11%, followed by Kishanganj at 78.17% and Purnia at 76.61%.

A control room has been set up at every strong room campus, manned by senior district officials. District election officers and returning officers have been instructed to regularly inspect the strong rooms and monitor the situation closely.

The Election Commission has established 46 counting centres across 38 districts. Each will be supervised by Returning Officers, Observers, and representatives from contesting parties to ensure a fair process.

Vote counting will begin just 5 minutes from now, 8 am today. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by EVM votes. Initial trends are expected around 9 am, with the final results likely by evening.

Gaya Ji SSP Anand Kumar said on Friday that all security arrangements are in place for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. He explained that every strong room is protected with three layers of security, and Central Armed Police Forces are stationed at all entry points and nearby sensitive spots. Ten motorcycle quick-response teams are moving across the city, and around 200 personnel are on continuous patrol. The district control room is fully active, and the situation is stable in all areas. He added that the team is prepared to ensure a smooth and peaceful counting process. Since the Model Code of Conduct is still in force, victory rallies are not allowed. Section 163 BNS has also been imposed, which means groups of more than four people cannot gather without reason.

Bihar braces for the crucial vote counting on Friday, which will decide if Chief Minister Nitish Kumar secures a record fifth term. Leaders from all parties held late-night meetings to fine-tune their last-minute strategies ahead of the results.

The Election Commission of India will begin counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 at 8 am. As expected, tight security is in place for the counting process. Results are expected to be out for all 243 constituencies throughout the day.
