A man narrowly escaped death when a bullet fired at him was stopped by his mobile phone, which he had kept in his trouser pocket, Delhi Police said.
The incident took place over a confrontation between two families in the Cement Siding area of Punjabi Bagh.

According to a police statement, a woman named Shanti visited a rival family on October 13 to resolve a prior dispute, accompanied by her sons Arjun, Kamal, and her brother-in-law Jitender, also known as Jatin. The group was met by Satnam, also known as Lilu, Sahil, Naseeb, and Ritik, who allegedly beat and chased them away.
During the altercation, Arjun reportedly pulled out a firearm and, after being encouraged by Kamal and Jatin, fired at Ritik. The bullet hit Ritik’s mobile phone, saving his life.
Two cases have been registered in connection with the incident, and arrests have been made based on the statements and evidence gathered, police said.
